In short, the infant lies on a breathable spacer fabric surface that is suspended over a bed of air. This revolutionary Passive Airflow Design decreases the possibility of a baby suffocating or being asphyxiated by accumulated toxic gases. The Passive Airflow Design helps to stabilize the baby’s core body temperature by eliminating the build up of body heat seen with traditional and organic crib mattresses. Studies indicate that a common factor in sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is an elevated body temperature.

Mattress Construction

The two tubular bars, providing support for the Heaven Sent Breathable Crib Mattress sleep surface are attached to the frame at the short ends of the unit. These bars are attached with a hinge that contains integral springs allowing the frame bars to remain in the vertical position for easy removal and installation of the crib mattress sleep surface. Once the crib mattress frame bars have been lowered horizontally, they are locked into position by a spring loaded catch mechanism. The crib mattress frame bars can be simply released from the catch mechanism by grasping the crib mattress bumper, which is built into the crib mattress surface, and pulling upwards. The crib mattress frame bar is secured in place by lowering the bar and pressing downward to engage the crib mattress catch mechanism.
